Milling

Our Milling machines enable the manufacture of instrument gear boxes, motor plates, cover plates and housings. Our most challenging work is multi axis work on universal joints, yokes and splined couplings. 

Many of the components that Newmont make are part of an actuation mechanism. Milled features are often accurately timed to spline or gear teeth. Newmont has the expertise to measure the geometric and positional parameters between milled features and gears or splines.

The production of prismatic components is supported by three coordinate measuring machines (CMM) in our inspection department. Newmont has a well equipped tool room that is able to manufacture fixtures to locate and hold the most complex components.

Our machines are installed to high specifications that include high pressure coolant / through spindle coolant, thread milling and the facility for wireless data transfer from our database.

CNC programming can be done on the machines or off line using our CAM system (AlphaCam).
